Welcome to Lake Titicaca S.A.C. (hereinafter, “the Company”), dedicated to offering cultural, rural, and adventure travel experiences throughout Peru. By booking any tour or service with us, you (hereinafter, “the Client”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

Lake Titicaca was founded with the purpose of connecting travelers with the cultural, natural, and community heritage of Peru through responsible, authentic, and sustainable tourism experiences.
2. BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS
- Booking confirmation: A deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required to confirm any reservation.
- Remaining balance: The remaining 70% must be paid no later than 7 days before the tour start date.
- Last-minute bookings: Reservations made less than 7 days in advance must be paid 100% upfront.
- Payment methods: Bank transfer, mobile payments, or cash (subject to prior coordination).
The Client is responsible for providing accurate personal information (full names, passport numbers, nationality, and date of birth) required for reservations, permits, or entrance tickets.
3. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Cancellations by the Client:
- More than 30 days prior: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee and any non-refundable costs (such as train or entrance tickets).
- 15 to 30 days prior: 50% refund of the total tour cost.
- Less than 15 days prior or no-show: No refund (100% penalty).
Please note: Tickets for Machu Picchu, Inca Trail, trains, or restricted attractions are non-refundable and non-transferable, according to regulations of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture and service providers.
Cancellations by Lake Titicaca:
The Company reserves the right to modify or cancel itineraries due to force majeure, including weather conditions, strikes, natural disasters, road closures, or government restrictions.
In such cases, the Client will be offered a rescheduled date or a full refund when the cancellation is attributable to Company operations.
4. RESPONSIBILITY AND RISKS
The Client acknowledges that adventure, trekking, and outdoor activities involve inherent risks.
Lake Titicaca operates under strict safety standards but shall not be held responsible for injuries, delays, loss of personal belongings, or damages resulting from:
- Natural events
- Actions of third parties
- The Client’s own negligence
Participation is voluntary, and the Client confirms they are in adequate physical and mental condition to undertake the contracted activity.
5. TRAVEL INSURANCE
All Clients are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering:
- Trip cancellation
- Accidents and medical expenses
- Emergency evacuation
- Loss or damage of baggage
Lake Titicaca shall not be responsible for expenses arising from accidents or lack of insurance coverage.
6. ACCLIMATIZATION AND HEALTH
For tours at high altitude locations (such as Cusco, Lake Titicaca, Salkantay, or Rainbow Mountain), Clients should allow 2 to 3 days for proper acclimatization.
It is the Client’s sole responsibility to ensure they are in good physical condition prior to participation.
7. PRIVACY POLICY
Lake Titicaca guarantees the confidentiality of all personal data provided by the Client.
Such information will be used exclusively for:
- Communication
- Reservation management
- Operational purposes related to contracted services
Personal data will not be shared with third parties except when required for service execution.
8. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru.
Any dispute arising from the interpretation or execution of these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Peru.
