Tour Itinerary
Chullpas of Sillustani
We will start the tour with a hotel pickup in Puno at 2:00 P.M. The drive to Sillustani covers about 34 kilometers and takes around 45 minutes. Along the way, we will enjoy scenic landscapes and glimpses of Andean wildlife, including vicuñas, alpacas, and vizcachas.
Upon arrival, our guided tour will begin at the Sillustani archaeological site. We will walk among the famous chullpas, ancient funerary towers built for the Colla nobility. Some chullpas reach 12 meters high and display impressive stonework. Our guide will share fascinating stories about the history and culture of the Colla people.
We will continue the tour by exploring other pre-Inca and Inca monuments, noting their unique inverted stone construction and architectural ingenuity. The high plateau provides breathtaking views of Lake Umayo, offering great photography opportunities. The serene environment and surrounding hills make every moment peaceful and inspiring.
After the tour, we will return to Puno around 5:30 P.M., concluding the half-day adventure. The journey back allows us to reflect on the rich cultural heritage and striking landscapes we explored.
